Imagine meeting Tex, a man you'll be talking about to a crowd of people who may have known Tex longer than you. Every Sunday a preacher has a main text to communicate. Think of the main text as a person you need to know.
Here are 6 ways to get to know your main text.
03. Have Fun
Sometimes a sermon lacks life because the preacher never had fun with the text. Use your imagination. Put yourself in the characters situation. Is there any humor? How do you relate to the text? Act out the main text as if you were a mime. Engage your creativity. If you had to boil this main text down to a smell, a sight, a touch, a taste, or a sound what would it be? If your main text was a song, what would it be? Try to tell your main text using only emojis.
Use these 6 methods and when you preach you'll introduce the main text like it's a familiar friend.
